Send messageLithuania sold today in a spot action 850,000 EU emission allowances (EUAs) at € 7.46. The auction was organized by the European Energy Exchange (EEX).
"The total bidding amount was 6,089,000 EUA. Thus, participants bidded more than 7-fold the determined volume", said EEX in a press release.
"At the time of the auction, the reference price in secondary trading on the EEX Spot Market amounted to EUR 7.45 per EUA", said the exchange.
EEX also said that six companies took part in the auction.
It was the second Lithuanian auction organized by EEX. The previous auction, also for 850,000 EUAs, was carried out on December 13 and cleared at € 7.15.
Meanwhile, EEX said that the Lithuanian Ministry of the Environment has extended the contract with the exchange so that it can organize another auction.
The third Lithuanian auction has not been scheduled yet but will be announced with at least one month's notice.
