Send messageGreece sold on Wednesday in the second auction this year 1 million EU emission allowances (EUAs) at € 7.27, said the Athens Stock Exchange, the auction’s organizer.
All offered allowances were sold in the auction and the proceeds from the sale were around € 7.3 million, said the exchange on its website.
Bid prices ranged from € 6.50 to € 7.27 and the auction’s clearing price was 51 cents (7.5%) higher compared to the previous auction on January 18 which settled at € 6.76
The Greek government has auctioned so far 12 million spot EUAs from the offered volume of 14 million, at a value of around € 125.4 million. The first auction was held in June 2011.
The Athens Stock Exchange has not published the auction schedule for 2012 yet.
Greek auctions were held on the last Wednesday of each month last year, except for August and December, while there were also ad-hoc auctions.
